Popular culture is undergoing a shift from face-to-face communication to electronic transfer. The birth of social media, such as Facebook, is transforming the way we communicate to each other. It is now more convenient to send a text message then to call another person and talk to them over the phone.
British photographer Robbie Cooper went on a quest all over the world to photograph virtual world video game players, placing their photographs next to their avatars. His goal: To see how we capture our identity and social belonging in a world shifting towards technological interaction.
