Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
On this fine day we celebrate the act of protesting racial discrimination in federal and state law. The campaign for MLKJr. Day in King's honor began shortly after his assassination in 1968. In 1983, President Ronald Reagan signed the holiday into law although it was first observed three years later on January 20th, 1986. Amazingly, it was officially observed in all 50 states for the first time in 2000.

They asked the firms to create a commercial plane with less noise, cleaner exhaust, and a lower fuel consumption than current planes. Additionally, each design has to fly up to 85 percent of the speed of sound; cover a range of approximately 7,000 miles; and carry between 50,000 and 100,000 pounds of payload, either passengers or cargo.

Football players have been plagued with the ongoing concussion epidemic since its creation. But what do you expect when two 250 pound men collide at incredible speed? Thank goodness for technology! Industrial designer Michael Princip is in the process of creating a stronger, safer helmet. His design works like this: The three layers on top of you dome are designed to isolate the force upon impact rather than having it dissipate across the entire helmet. Therefore, shock is minimized and your mushy brain isn't harmed.
Right now the helmet is in it's experimentation phase but don't be surprised to see it on the gridiron soon!

Cool Kid: Gordie Morton
Gordie Morton is a photographer/artist from the Metro Detroit area. He is currently studying photography at Central Michigan University. Additionally, Gordie is interested in graphic design. He states, "I'm pretty into graphic design. Sometimes Ill combine some random shit with some of my photographs to make some crazy weird image like the octopus tentacles hanging out of my mouth." Cool!
His eye for natural tones, unique angles, and diverse subject matter make for some beautiful photographs. Also, his use of props creates an emotional response within each and every viewer that is mysterious and undeniable at the same time.
So what makes Gordie tick?
"I really dig the instant gratification photography brings, and its a way to make the impossible look possible," said Morton, "Photography wise, Gage Young and Sam Doyle have some pretty sick shit, and music is also a huge inspiration."

50 Cent is teaming up with Sleek Audio to create some pretty neat wireless headphones! The $350 dollar headphones are made with military-grade metals, boast a 60 foot range, a micro-USB battery, a pair of 50mm dynamic drivers, and a customized internal amplifier!
Here is 50's statement on the new partnership:
“I know music and I’ve tried everything on the market as far as headphones go, but I wanted something different, something better that really pushed the envelope and gave all music fans a new way to listen to their favorite artists,” stated 50. “I was fortunate to find Sleek. The technology they employ and their knowledge of how we hear music truly blew me away. It was a perfect match. I didn’t want to create another pair of loud headphones. I wanted to create headphones that offer top-level performance, style, and new technology.”
There is no official release date on the product so keep your eyes open in the future.
