We are a group of graphic design students from Central Michigan University attempting the improbable. To raise $15,000 in 50 days to help construct a community center in Uganda.

We are a class of graphic design students, most of us entering our last semesters here at Central Michigan University. We were given a choice of what kind of project we wanted to work on for our capstone. David Stairs, our professor, came to us with the idea to help a community in Uganda that he has gotten to know over the years. None of us has ever had the opportunity to do something bigger than ourselves, so we were all in.

This project became important to each of us when we started going through the material that David had collected and began to build our campaign. If we achieve our goal of raising $15,000 in 50 days we will know that all the hard work will have paid off. You can help us and Fountain of Hope construct a rural community resource center in Wakiso District, Uganda.

The Official Central Michigan University (CMU) Harlem Shake

Check out this Harlem Shake video I shot and edited for Central Michigan. We wanted to slightly alter the original format of the Harlem Shake, yet keep some key elements of the original that makes it so viral. Therefore, we made a supercut of the crowd, added some kinetic type, and finished with some GoPro close-ups.

This one definitely caught my eye; think of taking your next vacation and skipping the Marriott and instead resting your head in one of the worst prisons in the Netherlands?

Het Arrethuis closed in 2007 after over 150 years and just opened their doors after turning the former 105 former prison cells into 40 guest rooms.

I don't know about you, but I think that mentally I wouldn't feel right about sleeping there no matter how nice the rooms look. Just the thought of all the lives wasted behind those walls makes me cringe and I think it would lend to a melancholy experience. Maybe I'm wrong though it could be a fun experience as long as the rooms don't lock at night..

Street Runner - Wale

Wale dropping his newest video on us for his single, Street Runner. His flow is so organic and lyrics are introspective enough to have me listening 2-3 times in a row just to catch every line. Afro Flow (Rock On) by A-Minus

A-Minus, a member of the local clique Verbal Vomit Enterprise, just released his newest single off his upcoming mixtape on Def Pen Radio titled, “Afro Flow”. His new mixtape, Pop Quiz, will hit the streets very soon and if its anything parallel to this track then it might just be one for the record books.

Combine Minus's unique vocal sound with his witty word play and undeniable swag and it's no wonder this is another one of the hottest upcoming artists out of Detroit. He also is set to work on a couple tracks for our upcoming project Michigan Made Music. Exciting stuff, we are humbled to be getting the opportunity to work with this guy.

Earth by Erik Olson

I have always had a weakness for Original Artwork and Outer Space, and Erik Olson just brought those two things together in his masterpiece, "Earth."

Simple at a glance, but I think its his choices in brush strokes that did it for me on this one... the thicker paint coats he applied created a 3-D effect where the painting almost looks like its coming off the canvas.

Cool stuff, definitely something I'd love to hang in my home. Check out more of his work here:
