Download the single on iTunes Here.

NEW: "Fast Life" by Asher Roth [Music Video]

Asher Roth releases this single off his upcoming album 'Retro Hash' dropping 4/22... which I really don't understand considering the album references 'Hash' and Asher isn't taking advantage of dropping it on 4/20.

The video shows Asher asking people to grab a message out of his mysterious box. What does the message say? You have to watch to find out...

Check out "Coast Is Clear" by Skrillex featuring Chicago's own Chance The Rapper. I like this collaboration; the sonics of both beat and voice match well ... sort of Outkast-like. Listen and let us know what you think in the comment department.

Check out this emoji-filled version of Beyonce's super hit Drunk in Love. Each lyric is represented by an emoji and it's pretty cool. Emoji's are slowly becoming a symbol of our generation's culture. I wonder how long it took to edit...

NEW: “m.A.A.d City” by Kendrick Lamar (James Blake Harmonimix)

Listen to James Blake's remix of Kendrick's “m.A.A.d City.” James remixed this on a plane and premiered it on his second residency show on BBC’s Radio 1 the other night. It's a very interesting/trippy/dubbed out version of Kendrick's song.

What do you guys think? Hot or Not?

NEW: "Peppermint" by Julio Bashmore ft. Jessie Ware [Music Video]

Watch the official music video for Julio Bashmore's new single “Peppermint” from his forthcoming debut album, due out later this year on his own Broadwalk Records. The video is directed by Noah Harris and is 100% stop-motion animation.

This is what Harris had to say about the creation of the film:

"This film was arduous to make. 90% of the film is shot in-camera. We used a lot of 3D printing and model making. The base technique in the film is stop-frame animation. I use stop-frame in a very precise and technical way. I love it when people think my work is CGI when actually it's all been painstakingly animated by hand. I'm happy for them to think that, though. It means we've done an amazing job. I love the fact that the film is a perfect sparring partner to the track. Although the approach to making the film was extremely graphic and disciplined, the technique means it feels human. There are imperfections. It has an organic quality." - Via Thump

Dilla Day

It's been 8 years since the death of Detroit's legendary producer James “J Dilla” Yancey, yet his legacy lives on. Tonight at the Fillmore crowds will gather to celebrate Dilla's contribution to music for the 3rd annual "Dilla Day."

But not many people know the true scope of Dilla's work. Here are 8-facts about the late great J Dilla:
  1. After transferring from Davis Aerospace Technical High School to Detroit Pershing High School, he met classmates T3 and Baatin, and became friends with them through mutual love of rap battles. The three formed a rap group called Slum Village.
  2. In 1995, Jay Dee and MC Phat Kat formed 1st Down, and would be the first Detroit hip hop group to sign with a major label, Payday Records.
  3. 2000 marked the major label debut of Slum Village with Fantastic, Vol. 2, creating a new following for Jay Dee as a producer and an MC.
  4. His debut as a solo artist came in 2001 with the single "Fuck the Police."
  5. Dave Chappelle gives a special dedication to J Dilla in his movie Dave Chappelle's Block Party.
  6. A recent BBC documentary inspired by the Olympic runner Usain Bolt contained two J Dilla-produced songs - "So Far To Go" by Common and "Runnin'" by The Pharcyde.
  7. In February 2007, a year after his death, J Dilla posthumously received the PLUG Awards Artist of the Year as well as the award for Record Producer of the Year.
  8. In August 2013, the opening of Dilla's Delight's, a donut shop located in the Harmonie Park neighborhood of Downtown Detroit, was announced for the following Fall. The new shop will be operated by Dilla's uncle, Herman Hayes.
