Listen to James Blake's remix of Kendrick's “m.A.A.d City.” James remixed this on a plane and premiered it on his second residency show on BBC’s Radio 1 the other night. It's a very interesting/trippy/dubbed out version of Kendrick's song.

But not many people know the true scope of Dilla's work. Here are 8-facts about the late great J Dilla:
- After transferring from Davis Aerospace Technical High School to Detroit Pershing High School, he met classmates T3 and Baatin, and became friends with them through mutual love of rap battles. The three formed a rap group called Slum Village.
- In 1995, Jay Dee and MC Phat Kat formed 1st Down, and would be the first Detroit hip hop group to sign with a major label, Payday Records.
- 2000 marked the major label debut of Slum Village with Fantastic, Vol. 2, creating a new following for Jay Dee as a producer and an MC.
- His debut as a solo artist came in 2001 with the single "Fuck the Police."
- Dave Chappelle gives a special dedication to J Dilla in his movie Dave Chappelle's Block Party.
- A recent BBC documentary inspired by the Olympic runner Usain Bolt contained two J Dilla-produced songs - "So Far To Go" by Common and "Runnin'" by The Pharcyde.
- In February 2007, a year after his death, J Dilla posthumously received the PLUG Awards Artist of the Year as well as the award for Record Producer of the Year.
- In August 2013, the opening of Dilla's Delight's, a donut shop located in the Harmonie Park neighborhood of Downtown Detroit, was announced for the following Fall. The new shop will be operated by Dilla's uncle, Herman Hayes.

America's next space shuttle: Dream Chaser
NASA brings us it's newest toy, set to launch into service in 2017, called the Dream Chaser. Developed by a private company, the ship would be able to ferry up to seven astronauts to orbit and back, giving us our first taste of a world where ferrying back and forth between the earth and what's beyond is a normal occurrence. Pretty rad stuff, I cannot wait to see the final product in action. Amazing things to look forward to in our lifetime.
Guy Learns to Dance in a Year
Neiland decided he wanted to dance (and dance well) ... so he dusted off his dancing shoes (and GoPro) and decided to practice everyday. What happened was amazing. In 365 days, Neiland went from an average joe with sloppy footwork to a better-than-average dancer with some nice moves! See folks, practice, dedication, and making something a habit really does pay off!
Neiland writes:
"Since i started to listen Michael Jackson's music, i started to dream about dancing.
Year ago, my heart told me to start practicing. This video is my dance journey with 365 days. All my dancing is self taught. I hope this video inspires you to do things that you really want to do. "

Which Video is the Coolest?
Which video is the coolest:

- OR The first ever aerial footage of a rockhopper penguin colony shot by a flying bird?

Check out Sidewalk Chalk's newest single, "Grocery List." The song has a nice organic feel to it paired with a fresh flow of funky horns and killer drums. The Chicago-based group is prepping for the release of their second album Leaves, dropping February 25th.
Coolest part about the group? Their Drummer Tyler Berg went the same high school as me!

NEW: "Escape to North Korea" by Pacman and Peso [Music Video]
Two D.C. rappers just made history by shooting the very first music video filmed in North Korea. North Korea is known for it's harsh rules against filming within country borders. Pacman and Peso raised over $10,000 on Kickstarter to fund their very risky trip. Although almost 2,000 Americans visit North Korea each year, the United States JUST issued its harshest travel warning against North Korea in 18 years. Obviously Pacman and Peso ignored the warning in hopes of becoming famous from their new video.
What do you think? Should Pacman and Peso get the recognition they deserve for risking their lives OR does the music not match the level of professionalism one should expect from a musician?

Which Drumming Video is Cooler?
Check out these two drumming videos. The first one, entitled "the Wikidrummer," shows Julien Audigier on Natal drums playing in various locations to create unique natural reverb. The second video shows the IRKUTSK ethnik percussion group playing on the frozen water of the deepest and oldest lake (25 million years old). Amazing!
