Every time I see one of these freestyle-type tracks I get excited. It's something about the style of the rap. When I see a good one, I post it. I am not too up on my Lil Bibby, but I was instantly intrigued by his unique voice and style. Worth a view:

Which Video is Hotter?
Hot new music is finally pouring in this year and some of the biggest names in pop/rap are dropping some controversial videos. The first video by Big Sean performing "Ashley" features some NSFW imagery and a bad ass plot. The second clip is an almost-too-hot-for-tv music video by Shakira ft. Rihanna performing "Can't Remember to Forget You." If you are in to 2 bad ass ladies shaking booty and caressing each other then this video if for you.
So which video do you think is more unsuitable for work? Big Sean's or the ladies? Comment!

NEW: "Confident" by Justin Bieber ft. Chance the Rapper [Music Video]
I don't usually post Justin Bieber videos, but when I do they feature Chance the Rapper. What do you guys think? Is this mainstream enough to boost Chance's career or is it weak that he joined forces with Canada's bad boy? Comment!

Big Sean - 1st Quarter Freestyle
Anyone doubting Big Sean, this man is on his grind! Stand back. His first song of 2014, produced by Detroit's own KeY Wane (with additional production by Travi$ Scott). Sean goes in on this track, once again marking his territory. He shouts out to around a dozen Detroit artists as well, including Tone Tone, Early Mac, Danny Brown, Dopeboyz Cashout, and Icewear Vezzo, to name a few. Definitely worth a play and a download.

America's next space shuttle: Dream Chaser
NASA brings us it's newest toy, set to launch into service in 2017, called the Dream Chaser. Developed by a private company, the ship would be able to ferry up to seven astronauts to orbit and back, giving us our first taste of a world where ferrying back and forth between the earth and what's beyond is a normal occurrence. Pretty rad stuff, I cannot wait to see the final product in action. Amazing things to look forward to in our lifetime.

Guy Learns to Dance in a Year
Neiland decided he wanted to dance (and dance well) ... so he dusted off his dancing shoes (and GoPro) and decided to practice everyday. What happened was amazing. In 365 days, Neiland went from an average joe with sloppy footwork to a better-than-average dancer with some nice moves! See folks, practice, dedication, and making something a habit really does pay off!
Neiland writes:
"Since i started to listen Michael Jackson's music, i started to dream about dancing.
Year ago, my heart told me to start practicing. This video is my dance journey with 365 days. All my dancing is self taught. I hope this video inspires you to do things that you really want to do. "

Future - We Run The Streets (feat. Young Scooter)
'We Run The Streets' is about to be one of the turn up songs of the spring. Future teams up with Young Scooter talking focusing on their domination of both the streets and the radios, which is a fairly honest claim. Future doesn't seem like he can be stopped.

GoPro: Lioins [Video]
We love GoPro and we LOVE cats! This video describes my ideal day. Nothing more on earth would make me happy. If you have 15 minutes to spare, watch this amazing piece of art that perfectly captures the personality of these big cats. If you care about the species as much as we do you will help rally to save the lions.
This is a serious problem that we must address before it's too late.
My Thoughts: Make it a Habit
This may not mean much to the average reader but I love making an imprint on our world through art and design. That's why I started this blog with Gregory Daniel Martini more than 3 years ago and our clothing line (G Apparel) with Jake Yates & Greg a little over 2 years ago. Although I went to college, worked countless jobs, and fought many battles I continued to express my creativity and follow my dream EVERY SINGLE DAY based on one principle, making it a Habit. By finding a little slice of time everyday to work on the stuff I love, I am able to grow and mature. I may not get the recognition I want or deserve (it takes time to build talent) but I love what I do and will continue to do what I love. Peace!

Can Video Games Make You Smarter?
I love video games! In fact, growing up I played them almost every night. Many people believe they are too violent, lazy, and/or a waste of time. But new evidence suggests they can be a learning tool and make players smarter. Is there truth to this? Watch below to find out...

Check out Sidewalk Chalk's newest single, "Grocery List." The song has a nice organic feel to it paired with a fresh flow of funky horns and killer drums. The Chicago-based group is prepping for the release of their second album Leaves, dropping February 25th.

Outkast to Return to the Stage
It's official AND it's amazing...Early this morning Outkast took to their website to announce a 40+ festival tour throughout the Spring/Summer of 2014 (dates to be announced). After a looooong hiatus from the spotlight, the duo is back and I couldn't be more excited. Who plans on getting tickets?
Via Outkast.com, "Ingenious and iconic recording artists and performers, Antwan “Big Boi” Patton and André "3000" Benjamin today announced via Outkast’s social media platforms that their return to the stage celebrating their 20th anniversary will include festival dates around the world. After headlining performances at Coachella in April, the influential group will be the marquee act at over 40 festivals around the world throughout the Spring/Summer of 2014 (dates to be announced).
“It's truly an honor to celebrate 20 years and still be free to do music the way we choose,” said Big Boi. “Don't just think outside the box, know that there is no box. I'm looking forward to rocking the stage with my Bro Ski and to all the fans - stank you smelly much, this is for y'all!”
"And imagine, all we wanted to do was rap! I am thankful to have been a part of a group that allowed me to explore anything that came to mind and have fun doing it. Returning to the stage together is the most exciting way for us to thank everyone for their 20 years of supporting Outkast,” said André 3000."

NEW: "Escape to North Korea" by Pacman and Peso [Music Video]
Two D.C. rappers just made history by shooting the very first music video filmed in North Korea. North Korea is known for it's harsh rules against filming within country borders. Pacman and Peso raised over $10,000 on Kickstarter to fund their very risky trip. Although almost 2,000 Americans visit North Korea each year, the United States JUST issued its harshest travel warning against North Korea in 18 years. Obviously Pacman and Peso ignored the warning in hopes of becoming famous from their new video.
What do you think? Should Pacman and Peso get the recognition they deserve for risking their lives OR does the music not match the level of professionalism one should expect from a musician?

The-Dream Announces Departure from Def Jam
Big loss announced today via Instragram from artist/producer The-Dream. After a six year with the label, he exits, saying, ""I will miss this logo. It all started here! Love everything that I achieved there, EXODUS THE-DREAM".
I think everyone is interested in his next move, do you think he is going to sign with another major record label or do you think this is a career move to start his own? The table is open, he is a big enough producer to do it, and he has enough capital. The sure thing is we will all be waiting patiently for the news!

My Thoughts: New Years Resolution
I always viewed art school as a place to experiment to find out what worked and didn't work to develop my style as a graphic designer. Therefore, I was only occasionally head of the class because most of the time my work didn't "fit" the guidelines outlined in the assignment. Now that I am a post-graduate and entering the real world, I want to strive to be one of the best designers ever.
Therefore, I am making a New Years Resolution this year, my first ever. This year is special because it's the first time I am working at a job utilizing my college degree. I am publicly stating my resolution so I am accountable for it. I want to work to become a greater designer this year by accomplishing five things:
There are many ways to accomplish these goals, too many to get into right now, but I will work on them to take one small step at accomplishing my dreams of becoming the best designer I can be.

I am publicly stating my resolution so I am accountable for it. I want to work to become a greater designer this year by accomplishing five things:
- Do not take "no" for an answer when trying to sell an idea my clients.
- Work on projects more efficiently and on time from start to finish.
- Create a better line of communication for my clients.
- Do not get burned by my clients. Make them accountable for paying for work that is partially or fully complete.
- Dedicate more of my time to learning and studying the art of design, printing, illustration, and web to become a more well-rounded designer.

Well this shows why Australians are not ready for the rap game. Apparently this bloke took the phrase "turn up" quite literally and managed to climb his way past security onto the stage and then up onto the lighting rigs. Needless to say this did not end well. No word on the injuries yet. Long Live A$AP!

I am always skeptical when athletes try their hand at fashion, but Datsyuk nailed this one on the head. Maison Margiela - Future [Video]
Check out Futures new joint 'Maison Margiela' prod by DJ Spinz.
Fairly mediocre video and song. Future is has an undeniable swag and delivery to his music, but I find myself often frustrated with his song concepts. He is rich. We understand. But the things that he talks about are so beyond the reach of the average listener it is hard to relate and/or connect with the message he is sending. I pray for the day Future hits us with some real eye opening, introspective music. Until then I reserve this music for when I am drinking on my way to the club and it doesn't go any farther.
